Cornerstone Community Bible Church was organized in 1989 and started meeting in the CETA Hall located in Coldsprings Township of Kalkaska County. The current building was built in 1994 and was expanded in 2000. We are a Country Bible Church located 12 miles NE of the Village of Kalkaska. We are also very close to recreation areas for boating in the Summer and snowmobiling in the Winter.
Pastor Rich has served a Pastor since 1997 after Retiring from Law Enforcement. Pastor Rich, while still in Law Enforcement was taking classes in Biblical Studies and was called by the Congregation in 1997 to take over the Position of Pastor. Cornerstone is a member of the Independent Fundamental Churches of America. Even though we are an Independent Bible Church we enjoy the mentoring that the IFCA offers small churches.
Pastor Rich is currently on the Board for the Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources (KAIR) and also works closely with the Commission on Aging for assisting area Seniors who need help.
We are located near year around activities so most people attending will find that casual dress is very acceptable. We try to have a mix of contemporary songs with the traditional hymns. This past year we purchased a projector for use with praise songs and Sermon notes. After the worship service we always have fellowship with coffee and many good things to eat.
Visitors have also found that we like to have potluck lunches and everyone is invited, especially visitors! We try to project a family atmosphere and try to not take ourselves too seriously. We do however take God's Word, His gift of salvation, and Desire for our lives very seriously.
We have Kids Club that meets on Sunday evening from Sept-April. Adult Sunday School before the Service and Children's church during the Message time. Our adult Bible Study meets on Wednesday night. We have a Nursery for parents with small children adjacent to the Sanctuary so that Parents can still be a part of the service while keeping little ones occupied.
Each year we have VBS and host "God's Helping Hands" to conduct our VBS. They bring an exciting message to the Kid's by the use of puppets, skits, music, games and other activities.
Our church has also sponsored a young peoples group from 12th Ave Christian Reformed Church located in Jenison, MI. They have been coming here for the past 14yrs as a service project for those who have need. In the past we have built sheds, decks, ramps. We have repaired roofs, kitchens, windows, and leaky pipes. They have cut grass, raked leaves, painted, and whatever else needed to be done!
Church Sacraments
Communion - We celebrate Communion the first Sunday of the even numbered months. We believe in the importance of observing Communion but do not want it's celebration to become routine or common place. It should be a time set aside to remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Baptism - By immersion of those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. We don't have a indoor Baptistery, so we have our Baptisms at one of the local lakes and often times is hosted by a property owner on the Lake. It's a time to celebrate walking in obedience to the command of our Lord and a time of celebration with a picnic afterward.

"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another, but above all try something."
